The Pinto Ribeiro Advogados team involved in advising AstroNova on the acquisition of MTEX NS was headed by managing partner João André Antunes and was coordinated by lawyers Ana Luísa Oliveira, Daniel Costa and Sara Mendes.

A multidisciplinary team from Pinto Ribeiro Advogados, headed by managing partner João André Antunes, and co-ordinated by lawyers Ana Luísa Oliveira, Daniel Costa and Sara Mendes, among other lawyers from the firm, advised AstroNova Inc., a North American company, listed on the stock exchange and a world leader in printing technologies, on the acquisition of MTEX NS, a Portuguese R&D and industrial production company, for approximately 24 million euros.

The operation has enabled the North American company to broaden its global offer in terms of printing solutions, as well as strengthening its strategic position in the EMEA area.

The acquisition was completed in May 2024, adding MTEX NS and its industrial park in the north of the country, with over 81,000m2, to AstroNova’s portfolio of subsidiaries.

According to the partner João André Antunes, “given the diversity of matters involved, and the strong intellectual property nature associated with the target company, this was one of the most challenging transactions we have followed in recent times, having been completed in record time, and thus allowing AstroNova to grow into new markets, recognising the research and development potential associated with several national companies, such as MTEX NS“.
